Effective January 20, 2008, unless otherwise noted, allowances and/or post differential rates are revised as shown. These changes will be Part A of TL:SR-686.
Please inform local offices of all U.S. government agencies at the posts listed in this cable.
Abbreviations and short form designations of posts will be used in this telegram; complete post entries will be shown in the full Table of Allowances DSSR Section 920.
Important: Read this entire message as posts may be listed more than once. Changes are listed by allowance or differential rather than by post.
Taiwan has been included, when applicable, under arrangement with the American Institute In Taiwan.
The Living Quarters Allowance changes for Barcelona, Spain, are based on updated information on living quarters expenditures submitted by the Department of Homeland Security.
The Post Allowance changes for Ghana and Liberia are based on Retail Price Surveys submitted by Accra and Monrovia, respectively. All other Post Allowance changes are based on currency exchange rate information reported to the Office of Allowances as of the first Thursday of Pay Period 1 (January 10, 2008).
The Education “At-Post” Allowance rate changes are based on new information supplied by posts for the school year 2007/2008.
The reporting requirement for submission of the Retail Price Survey for Reykjavik, Iceland, in the DSSR 920 Table of Allowances are amended effective January 20, 2008, with TL:SR-686A as follows:

We propose deleting Izmir-Cigli (including Yamanlar) from the DSSR 920 Table of Allowances effective February 17, 2008 with TL:SR 687A. If any agency has civilian personnel assigned to Izmir, Cigli or Yamanlar or proposes to assign personnel to those locations, please notify the Office of Allowances, Department of State, immediately.
